Reflections for August 15th - August 22nd

This school year we continue with reflections on our daily readings from the School Sisters of Notre Dame website.

Sunday, August 15, 2010
The Assumption of Mary
Revelation 11:19, 12: 1-6, 10; Psalm 45; 1 Corinthians 15: 20-26; Luke 1: 39-56

Holy Mary, growing in wisdom, age and grace, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Pray that we be fully human, fully alive and let our dying give God glory. To read these daily reflections, please Click here.

Homily Helper
Twenty First Sunday in Ordinary Time, August 22nd
Luke 13:22-30

As we make this spiritual journey, we must inevitably ask the question posed in today's gospel: "Lord, will only a few people be saved?" Or, more directly, "Lord, am I among those who will make this journey successfully?" And Jesus answers our question with words that dispel any smugness that we may have been entertaining: "Strive to enter through the narrow gate." To love as he did will not be easy.
